In a PTC’25 interview, Alex Chace, Vice President of Global Government Affairs at APTelecom, shares insights into his work with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency on connectivity projects in Tuvalu and Bangladesh.

The discussion highlights the role of subsea cable infrastructure in supporting long-term development across underserved regions.

In Tuvalu, the introduction of the country’s first subsea cable is expected to significantly improve access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. In Bangladesh, enhanced connectivity is positioned to empower rural communities and contribute to broader economic growth, including increased GDP.

Alongside these projects, Alex also reflects on a community-focused initiative, where the APTelecom team volunteered at a Tuvaluan church in Honolulu, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond infrastructure.
